

About Dr. Sweet
Dr. Sweet completed her doctoral studies (PhD) in School Psychology at Michigan State University and her clinical internship at Michigan Medicine in Pediatric Psychology.
At Michigan Medicine, she received specialized training in Integrated Behavioral Health, Elimination Disorders, and in the Congenital Heart Center Neurodevelopmental Follow-Up Program clinics, focusing on developmental assessment, intervention, parent behavior management training, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
She completed her post-doctoral training at Sunfield Center, focusing on the assessment and treatment of autism spectrum disorder and continuing her work with parent training. Following her post-doctoral training, she worked as a psychologist for intermediate school districts, providing assessment and mental health services in Flint and the Eastern Upper Peninsula.
Dr. Sweet also holds a master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Colorado, Denver and has experience working as both a special education and general education teacher.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, being outside, and reading. She lives on Mackinac Island with her husband and two young children.

Dr. Sweet approaches work with individuals and families with empathy, curiosity, collaboration, and humor. While doing deep, meaningful work together, Dr. Sweet believes in finding joy in learning and celebrating progress along the way. She deeply values relationships with clients and considers it a privilege to work alongside you and your family.
Dr. Sweet is committed to utilizing scientifically validated treatments. Her clinical focus centers on evidence-based practices, including cognitive and dialectical behavior therapy (CBT and DBT). To ensure therapy work aligns with your unique life path, collaborative exploration of your personal values guides establishing tailored treatment goals using methods like motivational interviewing.
Dr. Sweet's overarching objective as your psychologist is to help you cultivate the tools and resilience needed to be successful and self-sufficient without her long-term support. She is here to help you safely experience, understand, and cope with the full range of human emotions and life events.
